This past month we have learned a lot about Faith. How quick our Heavenly Father is to respond to our needs. I am so thankful that we get to be pushed, that we get to have the chance to search within ourselves for answers and then go to the Lord for help with our needs. I love how Elder Richard G. Scott puts it "Prayer is a supernal gift of our Father in Heaven to every soul. Think of it: the Absolute Supreme Being, the Most All Kowing, All-Seeing, All-Powerful personage, encourages you and me, as insignificant as we are, to converse with Him as our Father. It matters not our circumstance, be we humble or arrogant, poor or rich, free or enslaved, learned or ignorant, loved or forsaken, we can address Him. We need no appointment. Our supplication can be brief or can occupy all the time needed. It can be an extended expression of love and gratitude or an urgent plea for help. YOU AND I CAN TALK WITH HIM PERSONALLY, AND HE WILL EVER ANSWER." He also says, "I wonder if we can ever really fathom the immense power of prayer until we encounter an overpowering, urgent problem and realize that we are powerless to resolve it. Then we will turn to our Father in humble recognition of our total dependence on Him."
Prayer is such a huge step to take to show our Faith towards our Father in Heaven isn't it!
Elder Scott also says this on faith. "God uses your faith to mold your character. Strong moral character results from consistent correct choices in the trials and testing of life. Your faith can guide you to those correct choices. Clearly, it is what you do and what you think about that determin what you are and what you will become. Therefore, the choices you make need to be inspired by the Lord. Others can encourage you to make the right decisions, but those choices must not be prescribed by them. You need to ponder, pray and exercise faith to willingly make choices consistent with the teachings of the Master. Such choices are made with trust in things that are believed and when acted upon will be confirmed. Only enought guidance is given to lead you aright and not to weaken your growing character. That guidance will solidify your trust in Heavenly Fahter and The Savior."
Our Fathers plan is marvelous. He gives us a road block, we have to ponder, pray, and take the step to jump over that road block, and he will always catch us on the other side. But we have to make the first step as to show him we will follow his will. Its hard when he doesn't answer us all at once, but there is a reason for that. He wants to see if we will listen to him, or if we will just take our own way. I am so thankful to my Heavenly Father for all the trials I have gone through so far in my life. I would never want to go back to the person I was before he strengthened me. Just have Faith in our Heavenly Father, and in Jesus Christ and that will sustain you through this ever challanging world. I am thankful that Joseph Smith took those first Huge steps in faith to ASK, what was right. As a result he opened the gates for so many people in the world. Without that step we would have been so lost today. I am thankful for the feelings of Peace, Joy, and Happiness. Just remember to do those things he asks, and he will NEVER LEAVE YOU ALONE!

Heidi, you have a beautiful testimony, and I'm sure, not only myself, but many other's have been, and will be strengthened by your pure and powerful testimony. I also loved Elder Scott's address. Thank you for sharing.
Heidi, I am guessing that that was your talk you gave last sunday. Great job. Faith is a hard one, life is a hard one, and I too am so thankful for prayer! How could we get through this life without knowing that he is there to help us through. thanks, I needed to read that. Love ya!
My dear sweet Heidi. You make your mother cry tears of joy. My heart is so full with gratitude for all my girls. You are all such incredible people! You are all such a strength to me. You are all so beautiful inside and out. Your children and husbands are so fortunate to have you as their mother and wife. It is true faith does mold our characters. More times than not the "molding" process can be very painful. But something has to be said about the struggle, as it is so refining, and after all isn't that why we are here? We are indeed so blessed to have and know our Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. I can't imagine life without either of them.
