All aboard...

We went for a train ride on Saturday. I know we took the big long trip all the way across the street to get to the train depot. I don't know why we didn't ride it sooner. Ty waiting to board the train, this pic notice his tippytoes Nic told him to stand up straight for the picture, so he got way up on his toes. Whahoo, having fun now!! Look at all the animals they have. And then we stopped to feed the wild pigs bread. Ty thought this was fun, and wanted more and more bread to feed to them. Great throw buddy. OKay so this little teen male thought it was time to show off, and was going after every girl he could, this one just wasn't fast enough to get away from him. Poor girl. The fam What a happy boy. He wanted to ride it again, but was okay with knowing we would have to come back to ride it another day!

Our sweet baby........

First picture is it's foot Second picture is a 3D of its cute little face, with the one hand up by its eye Third is another 3D Shoot from the side, you can see both arms and hands up by its face. So today was our ultrasound and it went really good. The baby looks very healthy growing right at the stage it should be. Heart is good, it weights 7 ozs. and is still on track for the due date which is Nov. 24th. And I am happy to announce that daddy is super happy because he got his daddies girl!

Baby Update!

So I had another apt. today for the baby. And everything sounds good. As soon as he put the heart ultrasound thing on my skin, you would hear the heart beating strong right off. Wed we have the ultrasound to find out what it is, and to see all the important things. I opted not to get the extra blood screening for down syndrome, and other diseases. Because we are keeping our baby no matter what so it was kinda a waist of money to me. He also said they can find those things out in the ultrasound too. So there you have it. Now for Wed. Who thinks its a girl and who thinks its a boy?? This doesn't have anything to do with the baby update, but I love this little boy so much, he always melts my heart. Just wanted to show you all he has a very tender side along with a very busy side.

okay so I am so bad at doing tags when people tag me, except Brittan let me know in my comments that she tagged me, so here you go... WHAT DO YOU SEE OUTSIDE MY HOUSE? Out our back door you will see Jungle, Coconut trees, and sometimes you will hear a baby pig down in the shrubbery. If you look the other direction out the back door you will sometimes see low clouds covering the mountains early in the cool morning time. Out our front door you will see rain in the mornings, and a big green hill, and cars parked. So there you have it, sorry nothing more interesting to see. Especially out the front, but I do have to say we love the view from the back of our house. Now I tag anyone who wants to share.

Running Weekend...

So Nic ran in the 8 mile race from Ha'ena to Hanalie Bay. It was fun to watch as he came through the finish line, along with Brady, Karen, and our friend Leslie from off island. She is the sister to a few of the guys Nic and Brady work with. Nic did awesome and ran low 6 min miles, which was great! Ty was pretty good to wait at the finish line, but soon got a little restless and wanted to go play. Here Nic comes... There Nic goes. Shortly behind Nic, came Brady. And shortly behind Brady came Karen. It was fun to watch them all cross the finish line, knowing they pushed there hardest. Great Job guys. On Sunday evening, we were playing outside before bed time, and Ty stepped on a bee. He took it really well, and thought it was kinda neat to have mud on his foot. Its all healed now.

A Hawaiian Blessing

I had the opportunity to go to the groundbreaking ceremony for Nic's job. It was so neat and amazing how the Hawaiian culture invites God in all the things they do with the Land. (This post is kinda long so if you want to skim that is fine) We started by getting on the boat which took us over to the ceremony. And yes you always have your Hawaiian singers there to prelude with fun Hawaiian music. They opened the ceremony with a conch shell, signals the formal commencement of ceremonies, acknowledging the cardinal points(compass) of the earth and calling for the assembly to gather. Then the head dancer lady said a Hawaiian chant which was to acknowledge the ancestral spirits of the land and to petition for wisdom, guidance, inspiration, & protection of the gathering. In this one, all the people who were apart of the dirt churning had to wear this special cloth. Just some history about Hawaiian groundbreaking ceremonies... they are conducted to consecrate the land. The ceremonial turning of the earth enhances a special connection with the project and the land. It is also an expression of cooperation and willingness to work together, by intergrading personal and collective skills, knowledge and leadership roles to see the Makalii(which is what they named nic's project or what the hawaiian name of the project is) to fruition. Then She poured the water that they gathered from Wialua River, and then she said a prayer upon the water. Then after blessing the water, she threw salt onto the ground, again on all corners like the compass. Then she mixed the salt and water together, and then said another blessing. Then she sprinkled the mixed water upon the digging sticks. Then each digging stick was handed one by one to those who were digging the dirt. Then she sprinkled the dirt with the mixed water... And then they dug the dirt while she chanted in Hawaiian this blessing... (Supporters of the foundation, Supporters of the top, Supporters of the branch, take notice! Observe the manner in which the spade digs, This sacred implement of mine Is applied to these fertile lands, for dry cultivation is bound for success. This is our humble prayer and request, for health and life... Amama, this is my prayer. Let my words take flight and manifest to reality. The prayer is set free!) She said that 3 times, and at the end of each time they would dig in the dirt. Then they danced a hula. And then a different hula... And last conch shell blowing to close the prayer or ceremony. They also blow this facing 4 different direction like a compass. Nic and I in front of the blessed dirt. The cute ceremony dancers, and prayer givers. The guys on the project with Nic. We Love lotion...

Sorry for always posting pics just of Ty, but he is always doing something that has to be on camera. So heres the Story... last night before bed we had just gotten out of the shower and we in the living room trying to get Ty to put on him Pj's. Nic and I were being lazy and letting him play a few more min. He went into my room to put back my makeup brushes which he loves to play with. He was in there for a few min so I went to go check on him. As I turned the corner into my closet this is what I found. He put my head band in his hair, and had emptyed the whole bottle of my victoria's Secret Lotion on him, and the ground. (parden the mess in my closet, Ty likes to pull all my clothes off the selves, and I get tired of always putting them back up) That is our Ty boy for you! Always finding something to make a mess with. I have to tell you he was so proud of himself.
