Now who ever said you need a pool to wear arm floaties? We got new arm floaties for Ty the night before since his others had a hole in them, but today he just had to try them out in the tubby, and I have to tell you the tubby was his idea to take them in. I love this Boy!!!

So its friday, and we meet daddy at work to go to the beach when he was done with work. Well Ty and I headed for the park while the others got a few waves at Brenneckes. The was was perfect, big waves lots of fun, and mild weather. After a while at the park Ty said he was done, so we walked back over to the beach where everyone else was. Well for some strange reason everyone was out of the water and were talking to each other. So I walked over closer and Nic says guess what... those guys that went out spear fishing, when they were coming back in a Shark took a bit out of the fish they had on there line. What I said... then as we are looking towards the ocean this is what we saw.....(this isn't the actual shark, just one I found on google)

Thats right kids... there was the shark right on the shore. It was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. First its top fin and then the tail fin came out of the water. We were all in shock. He was around 6-7 feet long.
So then I hear the story. Nic and Karen were out in the water having a great time, when the divers swam next to Nic going towards shore. All the sudden the guy looks at Nic and says, did you just see that? Nic says no what? A shark just ate my fish off my line. So Nic starts swimming towards shore, while trying to swim Nic gets a huge cramp in his right leg and foot, and is hard to swim, his heart starts racing, "Oh no that shark is in the water, my leg won't swim fast enough, and my other one has a cramp in it." ( I am sure that is what he was thinking) So they make it to the shore, and that is when I came in the picture.

Since we didn't take the camera that night, when the divers left they left there eaten fish behind, and we really wanted you all to see what damage a little 7 foot shark could do. So yes we threw it in the car and headed for home. Ty was so fasinated by the fish, he just sat there softly touching, and then poking its eyes.

This is a parrot fish... They really do look just like a parrot, they are very big and colorful.

So to give you all a little more comfort... Grey reef Sharks, (like the one we saw) are one of the more mild sharks, they are not very aggressive and usually don't come after people, they are the sharks the you usually go down and see in the shark cages. They are also the sharks that are in the movie Into the Blue. (if you have seen it) But still I don't think I would want to be in the water with a shark. So that is how our night at the beach went. A very crazy thing, I still can't believe I really saw a shark in real life in the wild.

First of all, Ty man is hilarious as always. And Heidi, your toenails are looking super cute.
The rest of it...gave me chills. I dont' know if I'd ever be able to get back in the water. How do you know what kind of shark it was? And that fish is amazing. It almost looks fake because of the shade of blue. Wild.
That picture of the shark is crazy! haha. Ty is getting so big AND you're pregnant! Congratulations! I'm so happy that you blog so I can keep up with your cute little family :)

That is an amazing night! Paul told me that I couldn't read this post unless I didn't get on the plane. So I didn't get a seat on the plane. That sucks, but hey you get what you pay for right? Anyway that is scary! I would freak out!!!! The parrot fish is so cool looking. I love the color. And Ty man, you are just so fun. I wish I was there with you right now. We will try again for sure. Love ya!
Wow what a story! It is kind of funny though, I can just see Nic swimming with all he's got, then...suddenly a cramp!!Oh no, now the shark will think I am a wounded seal...swim! swim! What a panic!! It's kind of like a nightmare, except it really happened. The parrot fish is beautiful. Well, the head is..I would like so see the rest of his body. It was a big fish when you put your foot next to it. Have they seen sharks swimming in that area before? I'm glad everyone is ok. Was the spear fisherman a local or a tourist? What a story he has to tell!
Auughh! That would have totally freaked me out! I love the colors of the parrot fish though. You guys are SO lucky to live in such a beautiful (eve if it's dangerous) place!
Ty is adorable!
