Big Island Trip... Day 1

We were lucky enough to go visit the Big Island "Hawaii" And see a new part of these beautiful islands we call home! The Island is totally different from our Island at least the Kona side. Its very desert with lots of black lava rock! There are a few bushes growing through the lava rock, but mostly just brown and black! Except at the fun resort we stayed at. Nic booked us a few nights at the Waikoloa Hilton Resort. The first day and most days we just hung out at the resort. There is so much to do there and to get from our room to the pools you take either a boat or a tram train. Or you could walk but with kids that gets kinda old since its about a mile from one end to the other! So here we go.... Checking our the Hot Tubs... this one was perfect not too hot for Baby Shay and not as cold as the pool! They have these amazing lagoons which is salt water from the ocean that comes in and out and so do the fish and the turtles... Ty loved seeing the turtles. We rented a paddle boat and cruised on the lagoon. Ty would stick his face down in the water to see what was under us, and found this big turtle that followed us around for a little while. You can kinda see him under the water. Both kids had so much fun, and didn't want to get off the boat when our time was up. Next we stopped off at the Dolphin Quest pools. This is Ty and I waiting for our turn to get in with the Dolphins. A few tricks they were teaching the Dolphins to do. Dolphins are so cool I think! Shay was too young to go in, so her and daddy were nice enough to let Ty and I go, and they watched. Shay was a tiny bit jealous, but a good sport while she had to wait on the grass! Our first encounter with a real live Dolphin. His name was Nimbus.... Such a cool thing to do once in your life! Ty was excited but I think a tiny bit nervous about it! Nimbus did a few ticks for us, like wave, and make there cool sounds... He has around 80-100 teeth... And his blow hole, is where all the sounds come out of! Which I didn't know! Ty thought it was funny when he made a tooter noise out of it.. he laughed and laughed! His tummy is super soft, not as rubbery as the top! As a farewell he sprayed us all down by getting gulps of water in his mouth and spraying it out. Ty was not expecting this and it scared him for a second! After that we had to take home the cute little Dolphin they left in our room for us... Darn hotel people know how to get your money, Its okay he really is a cute little stuffed Dolphin, And Ty named him..... Nimbus! After we got all done, Ty told us he was a Dolphin trainer! My boy so clever, I guess that make us for all the sinker times that he pulls! The rest of the day we spent sliding on all the slides at the resort. Even daddy went down.... And made a big splash at the end every time! Ty loved it, he would get to the bottom and say I wanna do that again! He probably slid 100 times! Ty's splash almost was as big as his dads! But hey at least it got daddy a little wet! Ty's swimming abilities doubled on this trip! It was amazing to see how fast all we have been telling him came to life! He can now swim a long ways by himself, and put his head above water to get a breath if he needs it! But don't worry Nic was always right there to catch him! Here's a few videos if you wanna watch! The top one I missed the first part of him swimming to the other side, but i loved how proud he was of him self for making all by himself to the stairs! The bottom is him coming down the fast slide! Somehow I missed getting a picture of the big slide he also loved going down, and was just tall enough to go down! It was an amazing and fun first day! So fun, we all crashed that night and slept like rocks! ahh now for the next day!!!!

That's only one day?! SO fun! How cool that you can just hop over to the other islands and get a whole new experience.

Oh you guys are so spoiled! One on one with Dolphins, and fun water slides, and train and boat rides! I am so glad you got to go. Ty is getting to be a great swimmer. Looks like lots of fun.
