So just before Ty's birthday he figured out how to get out of his crib, and let me tell you there was no keeping him in there. So that night we went and baught side rails for the twin mattress that we had. Ty is so proud that he is in a big boy bed now. The only problem is now keeping him in it when he first goes to sleep, so if anyone has any pointers then please let me know.

Ty was showing us how to climb back into his bed. Watch mommy...

And there you have it.

Also showing us how much fun he has in his new bed.

Wipe-Out...

Oh how cute! You'll have your challenge trying to keep him in bed for a while, but he'll get the idea. Does he have a favorite item to take to bed with him (other than Mom or Dad?) Just keep reminding him that he is a BIG boy now. He probably thinks his bed is a trampoline.
Thanks for letting us "see" what's happening......love you!
I've wondered that myself. How do you keep them in when they suddenly have the ability to get out so easy? Good luck with that!
Max is still enjoying the new found freedom of no bars. I can hear Noah in there telling him to get back in bed. He is good to be very quiet, and only find the toys that don't make any noise. When I go in there to get him in the morning there is usually a pile of toys on the floor next to his bed. Silly boy. If I go in there because I can hear his little feet, he jumps in his bed and covers himself with his blanket up over his head, so I can't see him. He isn't as bad as he used to be, but he still gets up and plays a little. Good luck!
Wow! Ty looks so big in those pictures. Good luck with the new bed. Koleton had a hard time staying in bed. Ashlyne will occasionally still come down and keep asking for things, but it helped when we said she could look at 2 books in bed and then bedtime. But, keep a routine and like on SuperNanny the 1st time tell him it is bed time and take him back. 2nd time just say "bed" and take him back. After that you don't say anything and keep putting him back in bed. The first few times will be the killer, but it worked. Just diligence on the parents part. Don't give in. Supper nanny said that if you reward them with talking or getting a drink, etc. they will keep coming out. FYI. Love you guys!
Okay that is hard when they won't stay put. I remember telling Gav like 5 times a night to get in bed. It really turns into a game with them. Little stinkers. Hopw all is well lvoe you
We reversed the lock on Ben's door, so that we can lock it from the outside. He gets out of bed, plays for a little while but then climbs back into his bed to sleep. It's worked out really well for us. When he wakes up, he just knocks on the door or starts yelling "Please, open the door".
Good luck.
Yeah! No more crib! That was always a happy day for my boys, when they get to sleep in a big boy bed.
It's a battle to get them to stay in the big boy bed the first little while. With Zack we kept telling him if he stayed in his bed and was a good little boy and didn't get out we would come check on him and give him a hug and a kiss. You start with one minute then the next time you come back it's 3 min anyway keep upping the minutes in between and eventually they stay in bed waiting for you to come back and they fall asleep. I don't know every kid is different. Hopefully you will find something that works for you. I personally am a fan of cribs! But they are not much good when they can climb out of them! Good luck guys
